In June, we were showing the new DIRTI (Dirty Tangible Interfaces) at the Pompidou Center within the "Le son au bout des doigts" exhibition ("Sound at your fingertips"). Our partners from Ircam along with l'Atelier des enfants invited us – an initiative for the 40th anniversary celebration of the Pompidou Center. And in September the installation was on show at the Royaumont abbey, near Paris. Made in partnership with Ircam's ISMM team, music composed by Emmanuelle Lizère and Ariadna Alsina.
The all new Autonomous edition
Following up on its iPad brew, the all new Autonomous edition is the next gen of the Dirty Tangible Interfaces: all of the processing power and display capacity is now embedded within the device, independent from any iPad and their unpredictable size updates… And the composers – Emmanuelle Lizère and Ariadna Alsina – have had fun selecting materials, recording them and composing with them:

Feathers, bark, sponges, raphia, chains… we've tested several materials. The qualities of each material gives a unique twist to playing with DIRTInterfaces, and challenges the musicians in learning new ways of expressing themselves:
